Garages

Garden Pleasure Garages are designed to be a 'Cost-Efficient' way of achieving storage for your vehicle(s) etc whilst retaining the technical description of 'Timber Sectional Building'.

By its nature your Garage will come without a timber floor so you will need to ensure that a suitable base is available for the building to be erected upon. We can supply Base Plan Drawings for your required 'FOOTPRINT'.

The general principle is that we 'suggest' a brick perimiter 'plinthe' of solid brickwork onto which the walls are erected/fixed. The benefits of this are that

  1. you can ensure that your base is 'squared' sufficiently for the building to be erected
  2. your building never 'sits' in water should the base be larger than the footprint
  3. should you ever suffer any fuel 'spillage' this cannot come into contact with your timbers and be absorbed

Your Garage will have 2.30m (7'7") Eaves and the Ridge will rise to a height in line with the intended span of you Roof Gable.

Please remember that if you intend to locate your garage within 2.00m of your boundary there may be 'Planning' issues. Advice on the rules can be found in our Planning Regulations Guide.

The Brick plinthe should be 'present' everywhere except in your Garage Doorway Aperture(s) and we build your Garage Doors to an appropriate length for the extra height achieved.

Standard Garage Doors are built

  • to an Aperture of 2.44m (8ft) width
  • to a Height of 2.10m (7ft + your brickwork), and come with
  • 6 x 18" Cranked Hook and Band Hinges
  • 1 x 4" internal Tower Bolt / 1 x 16" Galvanised Drop Bolt
  • 2 x 8" Galvanised Pad Bolts

and every Garage comes complete with a Pedestrian Door with Morticed Lock which can be located in your chosen position within the remaining walls.
